In the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route that runs around the capital, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.

Elkin stated that the Kerem Tunnel project was a important tool to realize the dream of altering the way of transportation throughout Jerusalem. "The new tunnel will be connected with the Jerusalem Ring Path. It will link to the numerous cycling routes that exist within the city. These will be paved in its numerous areas. The objective is to encourage cycling among residents of Jerusalem.
